The Crafty vaporizer is easy to use vaporizer from the stable of Storz & Bickel. It has simpler control, and aesthetic design for those who want to carry it in their pockets, without compromising on the quality of vapour. If you are new to it, let this guide give you a lowdown on how to have your first session with the Crafty vaporizer.
In the Package
Here’s what you will get in the box: the crafty vaporizer, power adapter, and USB cable to go along with it, filling the air, herb grinder, dosing capsule, spare screens, spare seal rings, liquid pad, cleaning brush, and general instructions.
You can expect the Crafty vaporizer to be shipped with the battery charged up to 80%, but it is advised that you plug it in, and charge fully before the first use. How long will that take, you ask? You can estimate it form the fact that charging up the battery to full from empty takes two hours.
Connect the app
Run a burn-off cycle to remove any residue left over during the manufacturing or shipping process. You can download the Crafty Remote Control app (available on both iOS and Android platforms). Switch the crafty vaporizer on and key in the serial number found at the bottom. Once connected, turn up the temperature to 410° Fahrenheit. You can achieve this by pressing the arrow up and setting the timer for 300 seconds. Let it run and shut off on its own. Once accomplished, the next step is to set the temperature back to thereabouts of 365° F. You can set the timer to your desired extent.
About the cooling unit
Crafty vaporizers come with a detachable cooling unit that keeps the hits smooth. You have to twist it 90 degrees anti-clockwise and detach it from the vaporizer. This will expose the oven beneath.
Works at The Click of a Button
A single button can be used to control the basic functionality of these vaporizers. There’s no display or full controls. You have to hold the button for a few seconds to switch it on. The heating up will be indicated by the flashing red LED light. The light will turn green when it’s ready to vape. To switch the boost mode on, press the button twice in a row. Doing this takes the temperature up from 365° to 383° F. After a minute, it shuts off on its own. If you want to extend it for another minute, you have to press the button.
Use the grinder in the package for a medium-fine grind.
When you are loading the over, cover its whole width but pack it light, so that air can pass through the herbs. Using the filling air makes the process easier. There are diagrams in the enclosed instructions to help you understand better.
Fire it up
Use the default heat setting to fire it up. When the vapour amount diminishes, press the button twice to switch on the boost mode. Due to little resistance, the pull can be fast or slow, as per your preference. The default temperature gives easy hits. No stirring is needed, as the oven cooks the herbs evenly. After each session, don’t forget to clear the oven, and clean the screen and the oven’s insides with the enclosed brush. The dosing capsule that comes with the vaporizer can be used to clean the oven’s insides. When the capsule gets dirty, you could soak it in isopropyl alcohol.
